What more can I say about this record? It might be the most amazing thing this band, a band, has ever done. Go read any review and you'll get the full story. Folk opera. ONe long song. Full costume. My brightest diamond/lavendar diamond. There's so much to tell, and I have no time to tell it. It's kind of a travesty this wasn't number one - oh well. Easily my top record of the year, if you haven't listened to it yet,

Let's be honest. This blog post was pretty biased.
It's time for you and the Decemberists to break up, Andrew.
To be honest, I had nothing to do in the picking of the Top 10. Spins on the Top 10 Countdown are not counted towards CMJ chart totals - it was DJs at WXVU, not me, that pushed Decemberists to Number 2 this year.
If we counted spins for "Always the Bridesmaid," they would have been an easy Number 1!
You might need to take this up with the DJs as well, fdl!
